HOLY HELL, its been a month...and other observations
NOTE: Again, another one of the several posts I have started, only to not complete...I'm posting it today, April 10, 2006 at 2:23 PM, even though it was written on the 30th of March, and the events took place a few days before that. Enjoy!
I was really big on this blogging thing and then out of nowhere I just stopped...no idea. I guess because I've been fairly busy and I try to spend as much of my free time talking to my girlfriend who is 270 miles away.
A lot has happened in the past month, Mary and I have been dating now for almost two months, and I couldn't be happier. Its so amazing to be dating my best friend, and even though its just been two months, we've been close friends for almost five years and I know she's the one. But I'm sure you don't want to hear me go on all day about how great my girlfriend and our relationship is, you want to hear the good stuff...
Saturday we made a trip to good ole' Savannah...to tear up River Street once again. We started the night out eating at the Macaroni Grill, where 9 of us sat at a table made for 8...good times. I had the Layers upon Layers of Lasagne...it was the bomb! We left there for a liquor store where our friend Todd HAD to buy a fifth of Golden Grain...for those of you who don't know, Golden Grain is 190 proof grain alcohol and is not to be taken lightly...I poured three shots in a cup of fruit punch, added some cranberry juice and I promptly began drinking up and down the street. Then we went to some bars only to find out that my friends who weren't 21 could not get in...so we went to the only place on River Street that would let them in, and it just so turns out that they have 6 cans of miller lite for $6. 21 beers between 3 people (we bought some draft beer too) and we have a good buzz (I'm drunk) going on...and we have to pee. So we go to the Hyatt, a hotel right on River Street, and it turns out that they have glass elevators...the drunk people are intrigued. We rode the damn glass elevators for like 20 minutes before we went on to bigger and better things.
Apparently that day a pharmaceutical company had put on an exhibit in the hotel's upstairs lobby...hell, I'm in pharmaceutical sales, I need to take some of their stuff! So Drunk Josh and Drunk Nathan take off to find all kinds of medical goodies. Thankfully there's a bag sitting right beside all of the notepads, medical annals, and ink stamps so we can put them in there, instead of walking out with it all in our hands...which we would have done. Upon riding the elevator a few more times and having a woman in her 30s or 40s (she looked to have "been rode hard", as they say) touch my face, while her friends asked us where we were going, to which I responded "to steal som shit!" as happily and excited as possible, I bolted from the elevator and made it back to the table of medical stuff. As my bag ranneth (oh yeah, its a word...) over with all kinds of things I would never use...we suddenly got the urge to go to Krystal's, and it was the best I had ever had...Ahhh, good times in Savannah!
